The Celerio for Europe is made in Thailand.

The new Suzuki Celerio will launch in Germany on November 24, and will be available with two engine options.

The Celerio for Europe had its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this year, shortly after its world debut at the 2014 Auto Expo. India was the launch market for the A-Star (Alto globally) successor.

The base Celerio will be powered by the 1L K-Series engine. Note: The 5-spoke alloys and body cladding are likely to be offered as accessories.

The biggest change is that the Celerio will be exported from Suzuki's Thailand plant (Maruti was responsible for exporting the Alto). Visually, the Celerio for Europe looks identical to the Indian model, and the base variant which gets the 1.0-liter K-Series engine makes about the same amount of power (68 PS) as the Indian model.

In addition to the K-Series motor, Suzuki will offer a three-cylinder DualJet engine (K10 C engine). The DualJet technology from Suzuki uses twin fuel injectors, a higher compression ratio, and comes with a Start-Stop system to deliver an efficiency of 27.7 km/l on the Celerio. In comparison, the standard K-Series engine is claimed to deliver 23.25 km/l. AutoBild states that the Celerio DualJet will even have its body lowered by 1 cm for better aerodynamics.

For Europe, Suzuki will not offer the AMT system seen in India. A manual and a CVT would be seen instead.

Apart from the DualJet engine, the Celerio in Europe would likely get extra features like ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard, apart from ESP and Hill Hold Assist and four additional airbags. These are either not offered or offered only on the top-end ZXi trim in India.
