The Peugeot 208 Like, Roland Garros, JBL XY and 208 GTi 30th Anniversary special editions were showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Peugeot 208 Like Edition
The 208 Like Edition adds a few exclusive touches to the overall package. Available in 5-different shades of colors, the Like edition is characterized by its white wheels and contrasting side view mirrors, grille surround and commemorative stickers below the door mirrors and the rear.
Inside, the Like Edition adds contrasting white panels and door handles, as well as safety belts finished in a blue color.
The hatchback is powered by a 68 PS 1.0-liter petrol or a 67 PS 1.4-litre diesel engine. The Peugeot Like Edition starts at 13,150 euros (INR 10.23 lakhs), and dealers have already begun receiving orders.
Peugeot 208 Roland Garros Edition
To celebrate the French brand's 30 year-involvement with the famous tennis tournament, Peugeot decided to showcase a limited "Roland Garros" edition of their 208 hatchback.
Only available for the 5-door version in the premium Feline trim, the Roland Garros edition costs 20,900 (INR 16.26 lakhs). It differentiates itself with the door mirror caps finished in the color characteristic to a "clay court", Roland Garros stickers under the door mirrors, and Peugeot lettering on the wheel hubs.
The Roland Garros edition is only available in white (Perle Nacre) or black (Perla Nera). It shares the same engine line-up with the standard 208.
Peugeot 208 JBL XY Edition
To be available only in France, the 208 JBL XY edition is created in association with the audio major. The car features a JBL music system which includes 8 speakers, a 240 W amplifier and a sub-woofer.
Visually, the JBL edition can be identified by badges on front fenders, 17-inch Anthra alloy wheels, chrome door handles, DRLs, sunroof and ORVM housings. Inside, the special edition gets sports seats, touchscreen navigation system and park assist.
Power comes from a 155 PS 1.6-litre petrol or a 115 PS 1.6-litre diesel engine. Prices start at 23,350 euros (around INR 18.17 lakhs). Only 208 units will be sold.
Peugeot 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition
This special edition, as the name suggests, celebrates 30 years of the GTi nameplate. The car features a two-tone paint job with the front part finished in textured black as against the rear's contrasting lacquered red finish. The chrome elements of the regular 208 GTi have been given a black finish.
Mechanically, the suspension has been lowered by 10 mm and the track has been widened by 22 mm upfront and 16 mm at the rear in addition to using larger 18-inch alloy wheels. The suspension and steering system are tuned to extract sportier performance, says the company.
The black and red theme is continued on the inside as well and the car gets leather upholstered sports seats with red contrast stitching.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre THP petrol engine which pumps out 208 PS when mated to 6-speed manual gearbox.
