Nissan revealed via a teaser image that it will debut a new SUV concept at the Sao Paulo Motor Show, which takes place from October 28. Brazil's Car & Driver says that the concept will be called the Extrem II, and that it would be an evolution of the Extrem concept presented at the 2012 edition of the show.
The Extrem II concept, according to the publication, will be more production ready than its first iteration, and will come with typical Nissan design elements like a V-shaped grille and boomerang headlights. The Extrem II will be based on the V-Platform which also underpins the Nissan Micra and Sunny.

The publication reports that production of the Extrem II will start in May 2016 at Nissan's Resende plant. The Brazilian market launch of the SUV will coincide with the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. As Nissan is one of the main sponsors for the event which is expected to attract a lot of interest, it plans on using the event to market the new SUV.
Nissan chairman for India, Africa and West Asia, Takashi Hata, recently said that the company was working on a new small SUV, that would launch in 2015-16. If the Extrem II is a sub-4m model, it could be an ideal fit for our country given that Nissan has well localized the V-Platform for cars like the Micra, Sunny, Datsun Go, Renault Pulse and Scala, and a second SUV in the sub-10 lakh segment would contribute to the increase in volumes.
