The MG 6 sedan which was launched in Sri Lanka earlier this year was in attendance at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show. The SAIC-owned British brand is represented in the island by its official distributor Unimo Enterprises Ltd.
The UK-made sedan is conservatively styled with a fastback style silhouette. In terms of size, the MG is 4,651 mm long, 1,827 mm wide, 1,472 mm tall and measures 2,705 mm in wheelbase. The understated design of the dashboard complements the exterior.
The premium sedan is powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which manages 158.2 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 215 Nm from 1,750 rpm. A 5-speed manual or an automatic (with paddle shifters) transmission sends drive to the front wheels.
The MG 6 is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 193 km/h. The combined fuel efficiency stands at 13.3 km/l.
Equipment wise, the fully-loaded MG 6 HSE TSE variant offers six airbags, ABS, ESP, anti-theft system, rear disc brakes, eight-speaker stereo system with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, cruise control, electrochromatic rear view mirror and sunroof.
The sedan is available in six exterior colors - Birmingham Orange, Black Opal, Manchester Red, Misty Grey, Champagne, Scottish Silver and Summit White.
Prices start at LKR 4.975 million (around INR 23.40 lakhs).
