The second generation Toyota Innova is due for a reveal next year.
A reader of MotorVikatan snapped the 2016 Toyota Innova while it was testing in the city of Bengaluru. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) which has its manufacturing facilities in Karnataka (Bidadi), has been testing the new Innova on public roads for at least four months now.
Yet, the Indian market launch of the new Innova is slated to happen sometime in early 2016, though the vehicle will be revealed next year at one of the big Asian motor shows, like Thailand or Indonesia.
Based on an all-new ladder frame chassis, the next generation of the people carrier will sport an attractive front fascia with a horizontal arrangement for the grille and Corolla-inspired headlights. The overall profile of the MPV looks similar to the current model, though it appears as if the car has grown in size (in length and breadth). This should translate to even better cabin room, especially for the rear passengers.
An all-new diesel engine will replace the current 2.5-liter unit, and it will bring with it better power, efficiency and lower NVH levels. Sources inform Indian Autos Blog that an automatic transmission could also be offered with this engine, apart from the default manual gearbox.
