European sales of the second generation S-Max start in the summer of 2015.
The 2015 Ford S-Max production version world premieres at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Previewed by the concept S-Max at the 2013 edition of the Geneva Motor Show, the second generation of the car will go on sale in Europe in the summer of 2015.
Based on the new Mondeo's platform, the S-Max offers seating for seven occupants in a three-row layout. Ford has equipped the car richly with power-folding seats on the second and third row, a hands-free bootlid, side airbags at the back, electric adjustment for the steering column and heated and cooled front seats with a massage function.
Power for the new S-Max will come from a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine which is good for 158 PS, a 2.0-liter EcoBoost with 237 PS and a 2.0-liter diesel engine available in power states of 118 PS, 148 PS or 178 PS. The more powerful diesels also get the option of an all wheel drive system.
Inside, the car gets a digital instrument cluster, an electric parking brake and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on Ford's second generation SYNC system.
