PT Mazda Motor Indonesia has launched the automatic variant of the Mazda VX-1 at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS 2014) to give "comfort and ease of driving" to the Indonesian family. The VX-1 is the badge engineered (Maruti) Suzuki Ertiga, featuring a distinct snout.
The VX-1 was launched in May 2013 with a manual transmission, and to accelerate sales, Mazda has included the automatic variant. The MPV is 4.26 m long, 1.69 m wide, 1.68 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.74 m. The car is assembled by Suzuki Indonesia, and kits come from India.
The VX-1 AT is powered by the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder K14B engine equipped with a DOHC, generating 95 PS (93.7 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Features on the VX-1 include MID, front dual airbag, Anti-Lock Brake System, and alloy wheels.
The fully loaded VX-1 AT is priced at IDR 215.6 million (INR 10.93 lakhs).
