The 3rd plant from HCIL will come up in Gujarat. The land acquisition phase is going on.

When up and running, the plant will add to HCIL’s existing capacity of 2.4 lakh units from its two facilities in Greater Noida and Tapukara plants. The Tapukara plant began serial production last February with the Honda Amaze. As recent as last month, the company shifted production of the popular Honda City sedan to this facility as well.

At present, the Tapukara facility is running one shift and producing 60,000 units a year. Starting this November, the company has confirmed that it will begin the second shift in the facility. Spread over 450 acres, the Tapukara facility is thrice the size of the first plant in Greater Noida.
