Plans to double market share with new launches.
Life Automobiles, the authorized distributor for Fiat in Nepal, introduced the Fiat Punto Evo at the 2014 Nepal Auto Show (NADA 2014). The Evo was launched in India on the first week of August and is exported to Nepal from the Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra.
The car is available in Nepal only with a 1.2-liter petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission. It outputs 68 PS (67.04 bhp) and 95 Nm of torque, and delivers a claimed mileage of 15.8 kmpl.
Available in four variants – Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport – the company intends to deliver over 300 cars in the first year.
Features on the top-end Punto Evo include ‘Follow Me headlamps’, ‘Blue & Me connectivity’ that is Fiat’s Bluetooth and USB connectivity solutions, dual front airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, all-four auto-down power windows, blinkers on the outside mirrors and a rear aircon vent.
The Punto Evo is priced starting at NPR 2.495 million (INR 15.53 lakhs). Fiat currently has a market share of 5 percent and hopes to increase it to 10 percent with the Punto, Linea and Avventura in due course.
