Mercedes-Benz India will introduce the next generation of its popular sedan, the C Class, early next year. Autocar Professional reports that production of the current generation C Class at the Chakan facility in Pune, Maharashtra, will soon come to an end. It is believed that the company is assembling the last batch of cars.

Mercedes officials told the publication that existing demand and foreseeable bookings over the oncoming festive season will be satisfied with the current stock of cars. However, the new generation C Class will enter production at the plant only in the early part of 2015.

Based on the new MRA platform with a rear wheel drive layout, the new generation C Class is often referred as the ‘baby S Class’ by the media, thanks to its design.
