Update – Mercedes-Benz has issued new images and a press release which have been updated to this story. The car will be displayed at the Paris Motor Show which begins on Oct 2.
Likely to come to India next year.
Preliminary pictures and specifications of the new Mercedes C63 AMG and C63 AMG S have been released ahead of their imminent unveiling. The front view and interior shots are yet to be uploaded by Mercedes-Benz.
The 2015 C63 AMG wears an aggressive body kit that features sportier bumpers, aerodynamic side skirts and a rear diffuser that is accompanied by a quad-exhaust. Also immediately noticeable would be the power-dome hood, AMG-branded grille and 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
Stepping indoors, the C 63 gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel, leather/microfiber sport seats, and stainless steel pedals. A dashboard wrapped in ARTICO, aluminum trim, black headliner, AMG-designed instrument cluster, front door sill plate illumination and AMG-branded floor mats are the other highlights.
The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine borrowed from the AMG-GT sportscar is harnessed for power. It makes 475 PS (468.3 bhp) and 650 Nm of torque and is married to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox which rockets the sedan from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited max speed of 250 km/h.
Performance enhancements include the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with three-stage adjustable dampers, AMG speed-sensitive sports steering system and ventilated and perforated brake discs that measure 360 mm at the front and 330 mm at the rear.
The Mercedes C63 AMG S is a more-frills variant featuring high gloss black accents and black flics on the front bumper. Composite brakes, 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels, dynamic engine mounts, an electronically locking rear differential and retuned front and rear axles, gives it more superiority.
The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine on it develops a higher 510 PS (502.8 bhp) and 700 Nm of torque, reducing the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 4.1 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
