Skoda will be revealing the new generation 2015 Skoda Fabia earlier than expected it seems. While the hatchback was thought to have a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October, the company has informed the media that production of the new Fabia will in fact commence later this month.
The new Fabia will enter production from the end of this month at Skoda's factory in Mlada Boleslav, located in the Czech Republic. To prepare the factory for making the new car, Skoda has announced a factory holiday between 4 and 15 August.
The company states that "extensive maintenance and modernization projects will also be carried out at the other Czech plants in Kvasiny and Vrchlabi". In its main plant in Mlada Boleslav, where the Fabia will be made, "a cutting-edge facility for the adjustment of assistance systems will be established", and the conveyor system will be completely renewed on the ending part of the assembly line. Also, the paint shop facilities will be modernized and their capacity expanded, says Skoda.
Currently, there are no plans to launch the Fabia in India, as Skoda's Indian operations are focussed on the Rapid and segments above it.
