Unveiled at the NAIAS earlier this year, the 2015 Mercedes C Class made its Russian premiere at the 2014 Moscow International Auto Salon (2014 Moscow Motor Show) today.
The new gen luxury sedan is expected to go on sale in the country later this year. The car is based on the MRA (Modular Rear wheel drive Architecture).
In terms of dimensions, the new C Class is 95 mm longer and 40 mm wider than its predecessor. The wheelbase has been stretched by 80 mm. Thanks to the new hybrid aluminium construction, the executive sedan is a good 100 kg lighter than the outgoing model.
As of now the 2015 C Class is available with a diesel engine and two petrol engines. The transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic.
The 2-litre petrol motor pushing out 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque is the fastest engine among the current lineup with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds. More powerful variants would be announced in the coming months, including the much awaited AMG.
The 2015 Mercedes C Class offers an array of optional features, chief of which is the AIRMATIC air suspension system. Buyers can also specify the car with ATTENTION ASSIST, DISTRONIC PLUS, PRE-SAFE brake and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
More technical details are available in the press release below the gallery. The new C Class comes to India early next year.
