The 2015 Hyundai Elite i20 gets a blue illumination for its interior.

The i20 seen here is likely the top-end variant as it is equipped with an engine starter button, integrated music system, automatic climate control and steering-mounted controls.

Towards the rear, the taillight unit shows its LED cluster with a design unseen on any Hyundai till date. The new i20 gets a two-tier cluster with lights extending into the bootlid.

As reported earlier, the new i20 will come with LED taillights.

Other details we already know about the i20 are that it will be based on the company’s Fluidic Design v2.0 language, and the hatchback was designed at Hyundai’s European center in Rüsselsheim, Germany.

Engine options are likely to continue unchanged, though a recent report indicates that the 1.4-liter petrol will be offered with a manual transmission only. Dimensionally, the new i20 is expected to be wider and shorter than the outgoing model, with an increased wheelbase.

Hyundai India will launch the new i20 on August 11. The global premiere of the car is held in India.

Competitors: Maruti Suzuki Swift, VW Polo, Honda Jazz, Fiat Punto Evo, Tata Bolt

Expected price: INR 5 – 7.5 lakhs ex-showroom

Launching on: August 11, 2014
