Tata has started the pre-launch bookings for the Zest through its website. Interested customers can pre-book the car online by paying INR 21,000 through debit/credit cards or other online means of payment.
The customer needs to select the state and city in which he/she lives in, and based on these parameters, the website shows a list of available dealerships. The booking amount is directly transferred to the dealership, and post launch, the customer needs to visit the dealer to finalize the variant and color of the car, and pay the balance. For now, the customer can only select the fuel type (petrol or diesel) of the Zest.
The Zest will be offered with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced diesel engine. Both engine types will get 5-speed manual gearboxes, but the diesel will be offered with an automated manual transmission (AMT) as well. Tata has not spoken about the ARAI rated efficiencies of these engines, nor has the company revealed the variant lineup.
The Zest is confirmed to go on sale next month.
