Mercedes-Benz's rival to the BMW X6, the Mercedes MLC, was videotaped testing in Germany by a YouTube user. The prototype seems to be wearing a production ready body, complete with lights, exhaust tips, bumpers and windows.

The MLC gets its design inspiration from the Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV that was showcased at the Beijing Motor Show in April this year. The concept previewed an SUV with a butch stance, a coupe-like roofline, LED headlights and taillights. The concept measured in the whereabouts of 5 meters in length, 1.75 meters in height and 2 meters in width.
The MLC is based on the ML Class platform, and as a result, it will use the same set of engines as the ML which include four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel motors. It'll be the sixth SUV for the German carmaker after the GLA, GLK, ML, G and GL Class.
A recent report stated that the MLC will enter production next year. The SUV is reported to roll out from Mercedes' Tuscaloosa plant in Alabama, U.S.A. We expect Mercedes-Benz India to launch the MLC sometime in 2016.
