Mercedes Benz India today confirmed that the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG will be introduced on the 22nd of July. The Indian premiere of the performance car was held at the 2014 Auto Expo in February.
MB India terms the CLA 45 AMG as pioneering the ‘Compact Performance Sedan’ segment in India. The car was globally launched at the New York Auto Show in April 2013.
According to Mercedes, the coupeish sedan is powered by the world's most powerful four-cylinder engine in series production. The 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine outputs 355 hp and 450 Nm, which transfers drive to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4MATIC technology through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed transmission.
The CLA 45 AMG's performance numbers are impressive to say the least. It can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 4.6 seconds and reach an electronically governed top speed of 250 kph. In the EU tests, the car delivers 14.08 kmpl.
Compared to the regular CLA, the AMG variant gets aerodynamic bumpers with carbon fiber body work, carbon fiber-trimmed interior, AMG sports steering wheel and gear lever, three stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist and 18 inch wheels wrapped with 235/40 section tyres.
The CLA 45 AMG will be a CBU launch and prices in Europe start at 47,600 euros (INR 40 lakhs).
