The Mahindra G101 (codename), the company's first 110 cc automatic scooter, has been out testing since mid-2013. The new scooter, by the looks of it, would cater to the price sensitive entry level segment.
The Honda Activa rival adopts a conservative styling which was revealed in the previous spyshots of the camouflaged test mule. The vents on the front apron and the prominent rectangular taillight with a body colored island in the middle are the salient points of the design.
The recent spyshots from Indiancarsbikes.in show the scooter getting the remote smart key like in the Mahindra Centuro. The Centuro 110 cc commuter offers first in class features like the remote smart key, anti-theft alarm, find me lamps, guide me lamps and engine immobilizer. The G101 could borrow some of the other features from the Centuro as well.
The 110 cc power plant is also likely to be shared with the Centuro. The air cooled mill produces 8.33 bhp (8.5 PS) and 8.5 Nm of torque. While the commuter gets a 4-speed gearbox, the scooter would employ a CVT. The Mahindra G101 scooter is expected to be launched before the end of the year.
