The production-ready Hyundai ix25 was spied in China recently, and upon closer inspection, there are a few changes compared to the near-production concept shown at the Beijing Motor Show this year.
The headlights on the concept had bright LED daytime strips (possibly to attract the motor show audience), while the production model gets a mellowed down version with a smaller strip. The bumper of the production model includes foglights (not seen on the concept), but misses out on the larger skid guard seen on the concept; it instead gets a smaller skid guard on its chin.
Comparing the side profile of the crossover, Hyundai has obviously given the large alloy wheels and low profile tires a miss, opting instead for five-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels. The rear of the production ix25 is devoid of the chrome enclosures (which acted as the exhaust of the concept car) seen on the concept model and gets a more pronounced enclosure for the number plate.
Apart from these minor modifications, and a new chrome grille, the ix25 stays true to the concept model. The SUV will launch in the Chinese market reportedly on October 9. The rumored variants and prices of the ix25 puts it right on the path of the Ford EcoSport.
Expect the ix25 to enter India next year.
