Honda Cars India is expected to introduce the Mobilio on the 23rd or 24th of July, and position it between the Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Innova. The vehicle will be principally launched for the personal customer. Honda told IAB that the Mobilio will target customers who are not just MPV seekers, but also SUV and sedan prospects.

The RS variant launched in Indonesia adds extra zing to the Mobilio with sporty front and rear bumpers, a full body kit, roof spoiler, LED projector headlight with light guide, sharper twin-slat chrome grille, rear chrome band and specially cut 15-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the car is seen with a 6.1-inch touchscreen audio system and a faux wood finish to the driver side of the dashboard and door trims (also used on the Mobilios displayed at the shopping mall activations).

The Honda Mobilio is based on the Brio platform and is built in Honda’s Greater Noida plant. Its launch market was Indonesia at the IIMS last year, held in September 2013.

In the Indonesian market, the RS is the flagship Mobilio variant. Launched in January, the Honda Mobilio became the second best selling car in Indonesia registering sales of 35,550 units, and securing a market share in its segment of 22%. The main rival to the Indonesian Mobilio, as in India, is the Maruti Ertiga.

If Honda Mobilio RS launched alongwith normal model,it will be super hit in Indian Automobiles industry and also for the best part for the Honda company to make profit .Honda Mobilio RS will rule the road for another five yrs. This will be next to the audi,BMV, BENZ in look-wise.

Mobilio RS is much better and younger looking than the normal one. I also agree that if its priced above City and almost near to Innova then you are talking about a near flop show.

HCity will then be a better option to buy compared to this or otherwise Innova when Mobilio hits with a price range that is not compatitive.
Dash does not look appealing and plastic is just above average. Just my two cents..but been an avid fan of Honda..no doubt about it ….owned a city earlier and now CRV.

Where will the HONDA Jazz be placed ? Is Jazz performance ( Petrol ) better or equal to Mobilio

What about the quality of space in Mobilio ..for a 6 or 7 seater in comparison to JAZZ
Finally will JAZZ die a Natural death soon after MOBILIO’S launch ??

    1. Hello sir, the Jazz was discontinued last year but will be relaunching by March 2015. We don’t expect cannibalization, actually the two can coexist very well. The Jazz is more of a nuclear family hatchback, and it has ample space for five people and their luggage. The Mobilio is a much bigger vehicle and has seating for seven, and it caters to the segment which is more applicable to joint family car buyers. Its how the Ertiga and the Swift have cracked this market though both cars are priced between INR 5-10 lakh. The market is also very big in the B segment to have hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and MPVs to all find their respective sweet spots.

If mobilio is priced between 8 to 12 lakhs or 8.5 to 12 .5 lakh it would be another flop of Honda after success of amaze, mobilio should ideally priced close to ertiga as 1.5 petrol and Diesel engines can’t be priced close to innova, innova is all together a different segment and breed. If priced above Honda city it would be a disaster and biggest flop in india. Interiors are poor platform is brio hence price would be a major factor for it.

It would be great if Honda brings 1.5L petrol engine in Jazz in India.

It would be great if Honda could offer the body kits options along with other accessories like the navigation systems and tweeters for regular Mobilio Customers. Of course the gearing options for 6/5 speed is the first on the cards.
