The Ford Fiesta facelift which was launched in India last month at a starting price of INR 7.69 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) has been introduced in Nepal at INR 20.62 lakhs (NPR 3,299,000), thanks to the nation's 'Himalayan' import duty.
The sedan is made at Ford India's Chennai plant and is distributed in Nepal through Go Ford. The 2014 Fiesta is available in three, all-diesel variants - Ambiente, Trend and Titanium - just like in India. Power comes from the familiar 1.5-litre Duratorq diesel engine that has 91 PS (89.7 bhp) and 204 Nm of torque on tap. The transmission is a 5-speed manual unit.
In terms of equipment, the refreshed Fiesta offers a driver side airbag, ABS and EBD, height-adjustable steering wheel, rear center armrest, foldable rear seat, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, electric boot release and 15-inch wheels. The high-end Titanium trim adds automatic wipers and headlamps, passenger side airbag, Ford SYNC multimedia infotainment system with AppLink and alloy wheels.
The facelifted sedan can be recognized by the new Aston Martin-like grille, revised headlamps and taillights. Inside, the centre console receives a glossy black finish while the seats are upholstered in a grey fabric.
The price of the 2014 Ford Fiesta in Nepal ranges from NPR 3,299,000 (INR 20.62 lakhs) to NPR 4,150,000 (INR 25.94 lakhs).
