The 2015 Volvo XC90 was caught on test recently in Europe. The second generation XC90 has been confirmed for a debut at the Paris Motor Show which takes place in the first week of October this year.
The new XC90 will be the first car to make use of Volvo’s new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture). The SUV is expected to weigh less compared to its predecessor, and would likely be powered by four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. So far, Volvo have revealed the interior of the car, which they claim is the most luxurious Volvo till date.
Last week, Volvo confirmed that the 2015 XC90 will receive the new Android Auto multimedia system. Announced by Google at their I/O developers conference, the system claims to seamlessly pair with the owner’s Android device and offer applications such as Google Search, Google Maps, Google Play Music and Spotify on the XC90’s large centrally mounted touchscreen display. For Apple users, Volvo will offer the CarPlay system.
The second gen XC90 will likely enter production later this year or early next year. An Indian launch is expected to take place around the middle of 2015.
