Skoda revealed the first official sketch of the next generation Fabia last week, and the image you see here is an accurate representation of what the production car would look like, rendered by our artist, Shoeb.
Skoda say that the new Fabia has design inspiration coming from the VisionC concept which was shown earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The hatchback adopts the modern Skoda look at the front with the large grille and the Octavia-ish headlights.
In terms of dimensions, the new Fabia will be 9 cm wider and 3 cm lower than the outgoing model. Length wise, it should be around the 4 meter mark. Skoda say that the new Fabia will "offer a completely new, versatile interior with individual options for customization".
Powertrain options are expected to be taken from the current model. The engine lineup will range from a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol to a 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel. Skoda has ruled out a vRS variant due to less demand.
The new Fabia would have its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show which takes place this October. The car is expected to go on sale in Europe early next year.
It is to be noted that Skoda India have no immediate plans to launch the new Fabia as the company's focus lies on the Rapid and segments above it.
