Mercedes say in this video that the AMG GT is all about precision and lap times, and camouflaged prototypes are seen at various test tracks. The AMG GT is the second car to have been developed completely by AMG, the first being the SLS. The company revealed the interiors of the AMG GT earlier this year.
Power for the AMG GT will come from an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 510 PS (502 bhp) and 650 Nm of torque. A dual-clutch automatic transmission will propel the sportscar from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and onwards to a top-speed of 312 km/h. The same engine is expected to be used on future Mercedes AMG cars like the new C63 AMG, which is also reported to launch in the coming months.
In India, Mercedes sold the SLS AMG in both, coupe and convertible body styles, and they got a lot of eyeballs at showcases. The AMG series of vehicles are important brand shapers for the company, and hence we expect the AMG GT to launch in India sometime next year.
