The VW Polo facelift has been launched today with a starting price of INR 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Apart from getting a brand new 1.5-litre diesel engine, the Polo facelift has cosmetic upgrades. Here is a visual comparison of the new and the old car.
The front fascia of the new Polo has undergone minor changes like receiving a new grille which has two black horizontal slats underlined by a single chrome member compared to the old car’s triple chrome slat design. The bumper has been reprofiled to accommodate a wider secondary airdam and a new chrome insert runs across the width of the bumper, cradling the revised foglamps. The headlamp clusters now house dual barrel elements and static cornering lights.
The profile of the car remains unchanged except for the new alloy wheel design. The Polo facelift introduces a new orange color option. Coming to the rear, the changes are limited to the new bumper which has reflectors on either side and a redesigned license plate enclosure.
Inside, the new car’s flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel is the most significant change. The silver insert on the centre console is another noticeable visual change to the dashboard and the multi-info display nested within the instrument console adopts a different font. The seat fabric is mildly different, the rear headrests wrap around the seat back to become shorter, while the rest of the interior continues untouched.
