Land Rover have announced the Range Rover Sport SVR (which was previously called by the media as the Range Rover Sport RS) ahead of its dynamic debut that will take place over the course of this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Sport SVR, the fastest and most powerful Land Rover, will be made by Jaguar Land Rover's new Special Operations division which is dedicated to making high specification cars and heritage cars. The Sport SVR that comes to the Festival of Speed will wear its camouflage as development of the vehicle is still ongoing.
Power for the SVR Sport will come from a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that will produce 550 PS. Further details and specifications are under wraps, and will be revealed before the car's launch next year.
The Sport SVR will be the first JLR product to wear the 'SVR' badge, which will later be seen on all high performance cars from the company. As the Range Rover Sport is anyway imported into India via the CBU route, there are good chances for the Sport SVR to be offered to Indian customers.
