Mercedes-Benz India will launch the special edition A and B Class on June 24. The special editions, which are called Edition 1, will see minor feature improvements to these hatchbacks.
As we mentioned earlier, the Edition 1 will be available only on the diesel variants of these cars. On the outside, the wing mirrors get a glossy black cover, while 'Edition 1' badges are to be found on the running boards and headliners of these cars.
The Edition 1 A and B Class get a different design of the 17-inch alloy wheels, electric adjustment for the front passenger's seat, rear center armrest with cup holders, reverse camera and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the B Class Edition 1 will come with a rear seat entertainment package.
Mechanically, Mercedes India have increased the ground clearance of these cars, and this is expected to improve the ride quality apart from enabling them to tackle larger speedbreakers. There are no changes with respect to the engine or gearbox.
The A Class and the diesel variant of the B Class were launched last year. At the time of the launch, the A Class diesel was priced at INR 21.93 lakhs, and the B Class diesel at INR 22.6 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai. The Edition 1 variants will be priced over the existing diesel variants.
