These spyshots of the KTM RC390 show the faired-bike without camouflage ahead of a launch that will take place soon. Indian Autos Blog was told by KTM India's sales head, Mr. Gaurav Rathore, that the bike will launch in the early half of this financial year (likely prior to the festive season).
The RC390, along with its stablemates the RC125 and RC200, was revealed in November last year at the EICMA International Bike Exhibition in Milan, Italy. Based on the Duke 390, which was launched in India exactly a year ago, the RC390 sees the addition of body fairings, a twin headlight cluster, integrated turn signals on the wing mirrors, a redesigned tank, clip-on handlebars and rearsets.
Underneath though, power continues to come from the 375cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found on the Duke 390. On the RC390, it produces an identical 45 PS and 35 Nm of torque and comes paired to a six-speed gearbox. The RC390 is 8 kg heavier compared to the Duke 390.
The RC variants are about 15-20 percent costlier than their respective Duke models. The same pricing equation is expected to be carried onto the Indian model.
