The latest South American market to get the India-made Hyundai Grand i10 is Bolivia. After launching the Grand i10 in Chile and Uruguay in April, the hatchback went on sale in Bolivia last week.
The Grand i10 in Bolivia is similar in specification to the car sold in other South American markets. While the exteriors look the same as the Indian model, roof rails are not offered even on the top-end variants. Inside, apart from the obvious left-hand drive arrangement, the dashboard plastics are color coordinated with the exteriors.
Two petrol options are offered on the hatchback - a three-cylinder 1.0-liter and a four-cylinder 1.2-liter. The 1.0-liter unit produces 65 hp and 96 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is offered in two trim levels. The higher-displacement 1.2-liter engine is the same unit found on the Grand i10 in India. Where the Indian car produces 82 hp and 116 Nm of torque, the South American model makes 86 hp and 122 Nm of torque.
The 1.2-liter engine is offered with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of features and equipment, airbags, ABS and a music system with steering integrated buttons are seen on the top-end trims.
