The Honda Mobilio could be exported from India.

Shigeru Yamazaki, Senior Vice-President and Director for Sales and Marketing at Honda India, said that the Mobilio, the company's next launch, may also be exported depending on the demand. He however said that his priority was on launching the car in India.

Honda India wants to double its export volumes to over 10,000 units in 2014-15. Last financial year, Honda India exported about 5,500 units to markets like South Africa, Brunei, Bhutan and Nepal. Out of the four models Honda sells in India (Brio, Amaze, City and CR-V), the company exports all products save for the CR-V.

India is the second market, after Indonesia, to make the Mobilio.

The Mobilio goes on sale in India next month with a petrol and diesel engine option. The 1.5-liter petrol engine would be borrowed from the City, while the diesel motor would be the 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine. Honda have remained silent on the specifications of the MPV, but going by past launches, the petrol can be expected with a manual and automatic transmission. The diesel would get only a manual transmission, and aim for the berth of the most efficient utility vehicle in India.
