Jaguar are working on a mild facelift for their flagship luxury saloon, the XJ. A prototype of the refreshed XJ was spotted in the UK recently by an Auto Express reader. The positioning of the camouflage indicates that subtle design revisions could be carried out to the front and rear of the sedan.
In December last year, Indian Autos Blog's design artist, Shoeb, rendered the 2015 XJ facelift based on spy images. The noticeable changes included wider airdams and a subtly redesigned bumper. Other changes could include a more aggressive rear bumper, trim changes to the interior, and possibly revisions to the chassis and powertrain of the car.
The refreshed XJ could make its debut later this year, either at the Paris Motor Show taking place in October or at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The company has been rather quick in introducing their updated products in India just months after their European launches and we expect the strategy to continue unchanged for the XJ.
In India, Jaguar commenced assembling the XJ diesel earlier this year at their Pune facility. JLR now assembles the XJ, XF and Freelander 2 in India.
