The normal etios or liva is a very beautiful car, don’t know why they even think of making this bad looking variant. For me this slots right ito the segment of ugly cars in our roads like ecosport and amaze(brio). They should make it look better in next facelift.

toyota sud have made etios cross longer at 3.99 m n wider wheel base lik ford ecosport wit more empasis on lowering nvh n more suvish lik features wit added mak up of deficiency seen in etios liva hatchback. anyway gonna see the market response.how toyota lives upto the promise

I really don’t see the market for these kind of products. VW also launched the Cross Polo and Fiat is set to launch the Punto Avventura. Is the market going to respond to these products? i think not (except for the Avventura….at least its redesigned to a large extent).

The obsession with “compact” vehicles is understandable. We get one type of vehicles at the price point of another (although at the risk of being called conceded phonies by auto purists). But the line has to be drawn somewhere.

In India, where perceived image of the Ride and Driver is given importance, such products would not appeal to lot of potential customers. Who would want to buy a hatchback that is trying way too hard to come across as a butch off-roader?

Looking at the market sentiments, we can say that hatchback on stilts: OK; hatchback trying to pretend to be a off-roader: NOT OK!
