Tata Motors' venture into foreign markets continues, even as its fortunes dip in the domestic market. The company has launched the Tata Prima range in Qatar.
The company has appointed Al-Hamad Automobiles as its distributor in the middle-eastern country. The products launched from the Prima range for Qatar include Tata PRIMA 4438S (4X2) tractor head, Tata PRIMA 4038K (6X4) Construction tipper Tata PRIMA 4738K (8X4) On & Off Road tipper.
Tata Motors had conceived the Prima range back in 2008. It has an Italian cab design, engine technology from USA and Europe, gearbox expertise from Germany, chassis frame know-how from Mexico, sheet metal dies from Korea and Japan, combined with Swedish technology on the robotic weld line.
The Prima range, Tata says, also focuses on the driver, giving the cabin features like air-con, reclining seats with arm rests, adjustable steering system, music system and comes with Global Positioning System (GPS) as a standard feature.
Tata PRIMA 4438S (4X2) tractor head is a 44 Ton GCM using a 380 HP Cummins Engine which is mated to a 9-speed Eaton Transmission. It is suitable for general cargo, industrial consignments, construction, etc.
The Tata PRIMA 4038K (6X4) Construction tipper uses a 380HP Cummins Engine matched to a 9-Speed Eaton Transmission. It is suitable for all construction applications. The Tata PRIMA 4738K (8X4) On & Off Road tipper with a 20 Cu.M Box & 19 Cu.M Scoop Tipper makes use of the same engine and transmission as above.
