IAB Report – Suzuki to launch Let’s scooter on May 6, brochure inside

Suzuki Motorcycles India will launch the Suzuki Let’s scooter on May 6 (Tuesday). The Let’s scooter was unveiled in India a few days prior to the start of the Auto Expo, while bookings for the scooter commenced last month.

The Let’s marks Suzuki India’s entry into the highly competitive 110 cc scooter segment, a segment dominated by the Honda Activa. Power for the Let’s comes from a 112.8 cc air-cooled, 2-valve engine which develops 8.7 hp at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. A CVT gearbox is used to transmit the power. Suzuki claims the fuel efficiency of the Let’s at 63 km/l.

The scooter measures 1,805 mm in length, 655 mm in width, 1,120 mm in height, 1,250 mm in wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 160 mm. The kerb weight rests at 98 kg. The front and rear wheels of the Let’s are shod with 90/100-10 tires and 120 mm drum brakes. The front gets a telescopic suspension while the rear is appointed with a swing-arm type coil spring suspension.

Suzuki have announced 5 body colors on the scooter.

The Let’s will be available in 5 body colors. The brochure lists a mobile phone charger as an available feature, while a safe-lock box is an optional extra.

    Your report on the Let’s previously stated that the maximum torque developed was at 5500 rpm, whereas as per the brochure, it is at 6500 rpm. Which is the correct figure? Also, what might the reason be for such a high rev-range?
