Philippines – India-made Suzuki Ertiga, Swift launched

Suzuki Philippines Inc. launched the Suzuki Ertiga and Suzuki Swift 1.2 in their market this month. Both cars are exported by Maruti-Suzuki out of India.

The Suzuki Ertiga is available with a manual and automatic transmission in Philippines, but no diesel engine.

The Ertiga is available in Philippines only with the 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which outputs 95 hp at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Suzuki offers a 5-speed manual gearbox on the base GA M/T and GL M/T variants, while the top-end GL A/T and GLX A/T variants get a 4-speed automatic transmission.

  1. Suzuki Ertiga GA M/T – 619,000 PHP (INR 8.35 lakhs)
  2. Suzuki Ertiga GL M/T – 712,000 PHP (INR 9.56 lakhs)
  3. Suzuki Ertiga GL A/T – 752,000 PHP (INR 10.1 lakhs)
  4. Suzuki Ertiga GLX A/T – 812,000 PHP (INR 10.9 lakhs)

The Suzuki Swift was already available in the Philippines market with the Ertiga’s 1.4-liter engine. Now, the 1.2-liter variant has been launched, and is pitched as a more fuel efficient alternative to the 1.4. The 1.2-liter VVT motor produces 87 hp at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The manual variant comes with a 5-speed gearbox and is priced at 608,000 PHP (INR 8.16 lakhs), while the automatic variant gets a 4-speed torque converter and is priced at 648,000 PHP (INR 8.7 lakhs).

    1. Hello Krishna, we expect the Swift and Dzire to be facelifted in the coming months, say before Diwali.
