Royal Enfield’s new logo that was first seen publicly when a fresh concept store was opened in Saket, New Delhi, during the time of the Auto Expo 2014 has made it to the bikes.
Images sent in by IAB reader Ganesh show Royal Enfield’s bikes with the new 3D logo bolted on to the fuel tank.
Royal Enfield’s been on the offensive ever since the TVS-BMW deal was announced later in 2012. With the launch of the Continental GT, the bike manufacturer has attempted to carve a niche for itself.
The Chennai-based company has also announced a Rs 600 crore investment over the next 2 years to increase its production capacity to around 5 lakh units a year by 2016 from both of its plants. The investment will also allow for Royal Enfield to develop new platforms, products and improve its R&D.
Royal Enfield is also reported to be developing a new 400 cc engine. It is believed to be based upon the same engine block as the 346 cc engine that now powers the Classic 350 and the Bullet 350.
The new engine should help Royal Enfield cover various engine segments between its 346 cc base engine and its 535 cc engine used on the Continental GT.
