PT Astra Honda Motor (Honda Indonesia) launched a facelift of the CBR250R yesterday. The new version gets a list of both cosmetic as well as mechanical changes.
The engine has been retuned to derive more power, with the new 250 cc engine now making 29 hp at 9,000 rpm and 23 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The previous edition of the bike, currently being sold in India, produced 26 hp at 8,500 rpm and had a peak torque of 22.9 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
Honda has worked on the DOHC, 4-valve, 6-speed, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and made changes to its structure. The gear shift ratios, airways and the engine valves have also been optimized, its press release said.
In terms of cosmetic changes, the CBR250R now gets dual headlamps, a front fairing that is inspired by the CBR1000R and an exhaust cylinder that is chrome plated. Changes have also been made to the front, side and rear body panels.
While the standard CBR250R facelift is priced between Rp 48.95 million (Rs 2.54 lakh) and Rp 49.95 million (Rs 2.59 lakh), the ABS version costs between Rp 56.7 million (Rs 2.94 lakh) and Rp 57.95 (Rs 3.08 lakh).
Since launching the bike in 2011, PT Astra Motor has sold around 15,000 units of the Honda CBR250R.
