The fastest moving segment in the Indonesian car market - the LMPV or Low MPV segment - has helped Honda Prospect Motor (Honda Indonesia) to significantly grow in 2014.
Since the Honda Mobilio's deliveries commenced on January 25, the company has sold 25,867 units. This has helped Honda register an cumulative sale of 49,104 units for the year, its best performance in recent times. The Mobilio is Honda's best selling car in Indonesia, and the archipelago is its launch market.
Jonfis Fandy, Marketing & After Sales Service Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor -
The launch of new Honda models beginning with the Honda Mobilio and the new Honda City, has contributed significantly to the sales of Honda. In addition, other Honda products also continued to show positive sales trend. Going forward, we will continue to maintain this trend by conducting refreshes on our products.
Honda Cars India will launch the Brio-based Mobilio in the July-September period (production is to commence in the quarter) and the car will be offered in petrol MT, petrol AT and diesel MT powertrain options. The diesel engine would be the 1.5L i-DTEC engine that is expected to create another fuel efficiency record, with outputs at around the 100 PS and 200 Nm mark.
