Indian Autos Blog broke the story in March this year that Audi will introduce refreshes for the A6, Q3 and Q5 this year. Engineers at Audi have already started testing the A6 facelift, and camouflaged prototypes were spotted in German streets and the Nürburgring race track.
The 2015 Audi A6 would debut in October this year at the Paris Motor Show, according to a report. The design changes on the outside would be minor, though it will give a fresher appearance to the sedan which was launched in Europe in early 2011. Audi will extend its new Matrix lighting technology to the A6 as its following a top-down approach of introducing this technology first on the A8 and then on the A7.
Other changes are expected to come in the form of redesigned bumpers and new alloy wheel patterns. Interior changes will be limited to the textures used on the seats, dashboard and door trims, and a slightly revised MMI user interface.
The A6 is an important volume contributor for Audi in India. Like the competition, Audi too assembles the sedan from CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits at its Aurangabad facility. The A6 is available with three engine options - 2.0-liter TFSI, 2.0-liter TDI and 3.0-liter TDI. Engines are expected to remain unchanged.
