Hyundai's answer to the compact SUV segment is getting ready for a debut at the Beijing Motor Show next week. The crossover, which is reported to be called the Hyundai ix25, was caught testing in China recently, where spies have managed to snap the interiors of the car.
After taking a closer look, its easy to see that the interiors of the ix25 are inspired by the new Santa Fe. The center console is dominated by vertically designed AC vents featuring silver accents, while sitting in between these vents is a music system. Controls for the fully automatic air conditioning system are positioned below the music system.
The gearlever, in this case being an automatic transmission, sports the familiar all-black gearknob which is also seen on the new Santa Fe. The steering wheel with its silver accent is clearly inspired from the larger SUV as well. Media reports highlight that the ix25 could receive a 4WD option on higher-spec trims.
The ix25 is reported to measure 4.25 meters in length. While this may disqualify it from the sub-4 meter segment in India, in developed markets like Europe, the crossover will compete with the Ford EcoSport, Honda Vezel, Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Juke.
