Chinese auto news website AutoHome.com.cn have shot an image of a banner of the Hyundai ix25 from the Beijing auto show grounds, revealing the first look of the Ford EcoSport competitor.
The Hyundai ix25's public debut is to be staged at the Beijing Auto Show tomorrow, on the first day of the exhibition, reserved for the media.
Autohome's report suggest that the vehicle could be a near production concept. Similar to the EcoSport, Hyundai have used a bright shade of orange as the official communication color.
With a stance significantly different from the ix35, the mini SUV's headlamps are lined with LED lights, the foglamp enclosure is exaggerated, the pillars are blackened, the roofline slopes down to the C-Pillar, and the alloy wheels are unfamiliar to current Hyundai models. The wing mirror is embedded with an indicator, while the front and side skirts are in a contrasting shade of silver.
The ix25 sports the Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. The 2014 Hyundai Genesis was the first recipient of the new design.
Another one of the ix35's rivals, the Chevrolet Trax, is also making its local debut at the show tomorrow.
