An avid Indian Autos Blog reader sent us these images of the Hyundai Eon 1.0-liter Kappa which has already gone on sale. Dealerships have started accepting bookings for the car, and the first customer deliveries are set to take place early next month.

Note the “Kappa” badge on the front fender of the Eon 1L.

The Eon 1L will be available in a single trim level called Magna Plus. This variant gets features such as AC, power steering and front power windows. Compared to the Eon 0.8L Magna Plus, the Eon 1L Magna Plus loses out on a music system and internally adjustable wing mirrors.

The Eon 1L can be identified thanks to a “1.0” badge on the bootlid and the “Kappa” badge on the right-hand side front fender. Popping open the bonnet, the engine cover carries a “K 1.0” badge (Kappa 1.0-liter). There are no other changes on the outside or inside.

Interiors are identical to the Eon 0.8L Magna Plus save for the exclusion of a music system and internally adjustable wing mirrors.

Powering the Eon 1L is a three-cylinder 998 cc with Hyundai’s VTVT technology. While Hyundai India have not disclosed the power and torque outputs, we estimate them to be at 65 bhp and 95 Nm, identical to the 2014 i10 1.0-liter sold in Europe. Thanks to VTVT, we expect the Eon 1L to possibly deliver higher fuel efficiency than the regular Eon which is rated at 21.1 km/l by the ARAI.

The Eon 1.0-liter Kappa is priced at INR 3.85 lakhs, ex-Showroom Mumbai.

Its shocking to see a company like Hyundai cutting on the features, it would have been more sensible if they had stopped the production of sportz variant of 0.8 L and instead launched the 1.0 as the top end Sportz Trim with all the bells & whistles….. Which would have hit directly to the competitors.

is ex-showroom price 2.84? what should be that on road then? 3.3? that is insanely good price. will eat into sales of K10 for sure
as k10 costs 3.5 on road, how did Hyundai managed to price it so caompetitive?

More powerful engine and no airbags even as an option. What a joke!

How much do internally adjustable mirrors cost? Is the difference prohibitive to skip this important feature? Not expected from Hyundai.
