Reports state that Fiat will launch made-in-India Fiat Punto facelift and Fiat Avventura in Nepal by mid-September, suggesting that the cars are likely to be launched in India towards the middle of this year.
A report on The Himalayan Times confirms the Nepalese launches by quoting the director of Batas Brothers, the official distributor of Fiat's cars in Nepal. The report also suggests a starting price of 2.5 million Nepalese Rupee (Rs 15.6 lakh) for the Punto facelift and 4 million Nepalese Rupee (Rs 24.9 lakh) for the Avventura.
Batas Brothers' director goes on to say that the company hopes to sell 500 units of the Fiat Punto facelift within a year of its launch.
At the Auto Expo 2014, Fiat had only shown the Avventura. At that time, Fiat had only confirmed that they would be launching the two models before the end of 2014. The company had launched another vehicle that had made its debut at the expo, the Fiat Linea facelift, just recently.
The Punto gets basic changes on the outside and the bulk of the changes are on the inside of the cabin, where a newly designed dashboard sits. The Avventura is a visually rugged variant of the Punto with an exposed spare wheel.
