Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Rathnavel, managed to video tape the 2015 Hyundai i20 while it was testing on the outskirts of Chennai, where Hyundai India has its manufacturing facility.

Codenamed 'IB', the new i20 uses a brand new platform which is reported to offer better driving dynamics than the current model. A spyshot exposing the rear fascia reveals that the 2015 i20's taillights will resemble that of the Honda Vezel, with brakelights extending well into the bootlid of the hatchback.
Another spy image revealed most of the interiors of the new i20. We observed that the steering wheel is similar to that of the Grand i10/Xcent, while the rest of the dashboard looks completely different.
Features seen on the European test car included an automatic start-stop system, automatic AC, parking sensors, an electrochromatic interior mirror, driver and passenger airbag, and a Bluetooth enabled music system, all of which are available on the current model. More importantly, we see a giant leap in the material quality and interface design.
The new i20 is expected to be revealed in October this year at the Paris Motor Show, with Indian sales commencing at about the same time.
The i20's B+ segment is set to get extremely competitive this financial year. New entrants will come in the form of the Tata Bolt and the 2014 Honda Jazz, while the existing segment leader, Maruti Swift, will undergo a facelift. It's no secret that VW and Fiat are working on introducing the updated Polo and Punto by the end of this year.
