Mahindra have introduced a special edition on their warhorse, the Bolero. The Mahindra Bolero Special Edition will be limited to 500 units and will be available in a single body color (Pearl White).
The key exterior features of the Bolero Special Edition are 'sporty' body decals and headlights with a blue tint (not visible in this image though Mahindra claims its 'Blue Vision Headlights'). Inside, the special edition is given 'European' leather seats and a music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
On the mechanical front, the Bolero Special Edition features ABS (Mahindra says its has rear ABS though further details are not given on this). Power comes from the 2.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which outputs 62 hp at 3,200 rpm and 195 Nm of torque between 1,400-2,200 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox remains the sole transmission option.
The special edition Bolero is likely to be priced more than the top-end ZLX trim which is currently retailed for INR 7.53 lakhs ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The Bolero, in spite of being nearly 14 years old, remains a top-seller for the company. Mahindra has managed to sell over 100,000 units/annum of the SUV in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Overall, since its launch in 2000, over 650,000 units of the SUV have been made.
