VW-owned design house Italdesign Giugiaro has presented the 'Clipper' six-seat MPV at the VW Group Night on the eve of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The fully-electric all-wheel drive vehicle is based on the VW MQB platform. It has two 148 bhp electric motors, mounted on each axle, giving it a top speed of over 200 kph and a range of 335 miles.
The batteries are spread out across the floor and the car's complete footprint is given to interior space. The cabin has three rows of two seats, and the two rear rows can be folded to achieve a 900-liter load space.
The 4.53 m long Clipper features butterfly doors on the front and gullwing doors at the rear. The B-Pillars are mounted into the rear doors to give it a Ford B-Max like unrestricted cabin access.
The interior looks high tech with the traditional dashboard giving way to a floating tablet mounted on a console that slides freely between the seats, thanks to the absence of a transmission tunnel.
