Yamaha will launch the 2014 YZF R15 v3.0 in India next month and these leaked images show us what the bike looks like. Sources in the company have told ZigWheels that the updated R15 will not feature much in terms of design changes, but will get some technical upgrades.
The changes in design will be limited to a new color option (a grey color), body graphics and a special edition. The special edition, featuring a black and gold livery, was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo last month.
The R15 v3.0 will continue to be powered by a 150 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine. However, Yamaha engineers are reported to have given the bike a new fuel injection system. This, combined with an ECU remap, will see the R15 v3.0 output 18 PS, which is 1 PS more than the current model. The torque though, at 15 Nm, will continue unchanged.
These enhancements will improve the bike's midrange and is said to make city driving easier and more comfortable. Other parameters of the R15 v3.0 will be carried over from the existing model. There's still no information on the prices.
Apart from this improved R15, Yamaha India also plans to introduce a revamped FZ-S this year.
