The India-made Honda City has been launched in the hill nation of Nepal. Prices for the 4th-Generation City starts at Rs 21.40 lakh. We had earlier reported that the India-made sedan would be exported to Nepal.
A report on Himalayan Times says that the City gets a base price tag for the E MT variant of Rs 21.40 lakh, with the top-end VX CVT costing Rs 29.71 lakh.
According to the report, only the petrol variant has been launched in Nepal. The diesel variant is much more popular in India, garnering almost 10,000 bookings within a month of its launch.
The Nepal model gets the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces maximum power of 119 PS at 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 6,400 rpm as India and the same five-speed manual gearbox that’s available in India, along with the CVT option.
The report states that Syakar Trading Company, the sole distributor for Honda cars in Nepal, aims to sell 250 units of the 4th generation sedan in the country within this year.
Following the launch of the City in India earlier this year, Honda confirmed to us that the Mobilio MPV would be launched next, with the next-generation Jazz hatchback expected in the last quarter of the next fiscal.
