The mountain country of Nepal gets only the petrol variant of the Honda City.

According to the report, only the petrol variant has been launched in Nepal. The diesel variant is much more popular in India, garnering almost 10,000 bookings within a month of its launch.

The Nepal model gets the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces maximum power of 119 PS at 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 6,400 rpm as India and the same five-speed manual gearbox that’s available in India, along with the CVT option.

I live in Nepal and can assure you there are no honda city cars available anywhere in my country for 21.40 lakhs. In fact, the base model here starts at 35 lakhs. Please get your facts correct before you report them.

Ps. And in case you think your dealer should be selling them at 21.40, do let me know. I’d love to buy one.
    Thanks !

Syakar is overcharging its customers in Nepal. (though not as
much as the Toyota guys). Let’s see an example. (Prices quoted as shown
on cardekho.com for India in INR and dealgara.com for Nepal NPR; Conversion 1 INR = 1.6 NPR)
      1. Maruti Ciaz ZXI Plus Petrol – India 9.4 lakhs and Nepal 38.99 lakhs
      2. Volkswagen Vento Highline Petrol Manual – India 9.6 lakhs and Nepal 40.45 lakhs
      3. Hyundai Verna S(O) Petrol – India 9.5 lakhs and Nepal 40.96 lakhs

But look at the rates for Honda city
      4. Honda City VX MT Petrol – India 9.6 (9.455 in official website) and Nepal 42.5 lakhs (on an average 2 lakhs extra,; bargain and discounts uniform in the all 4) which rises to 46.25 lakhs for VX MT (India 10.6 lakhs).

DO NOT BUY HONDA OR TOYOTA CARS IN NEPAL.

Why it is too costly ?. Is it the same honda city 2014 launched in India or it is an upgraded one?

its due to the 248% customs duty that the Nepalese Govt imposes on imported cars.
