The 2014 Audi A8 facelift was unveiled in September last year at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, following which sales of the luxury sedan commenced in Europe.
The facelifted A8 had a secret unveiling at the 2014 Auto Expo last month, where the car was shown backstage to its clientele. Select dealers of Audi India have also commenced bookings for the car, though prices are unknown. The first customer deliveries in India will take place by April or May this year.
Indian Autos Blog can reveal details about the Indian-spec 2014 A8L based on a brochure sent to us by a source. Like previously, the car is imported into the country via the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) route from Audi's Neckarsulm facility. The luxo-barge will be offered with two engine options, one diesel and one petrol. Audi India will discontinue the 6.3-liter W12 petrol and the 4.2-liter V8 diesel.
The diesel 2014 A8 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 TDI producing 258 PS and 580 Nm of torque. It is capable of accelerating the A8 from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and onwards to a limited top-speed of 250 km/h. The petrol motor is a 4.0-liter V8 TFSI Bi-Turbo engine capable of 435 PS and 600 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Both variants of the A8 will feature LED headlights as standard. The Matrix lighting system is listed as optional however.
