Toyota today unveiled the Etios Cross at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014 saying that it will be launched in May 2014. Bookings start today however.
The Etios Cross is built on the same platform that underpins the Etios and Etios Liva hatchback and has been launched in South America.
The Etios Cross will be powered by the same engines that the sedan and hatchback use - the 1.5-liter petrol engine that develops 90 hp, a 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 80 hp and a 1.4-liter diesel engine that puts out 69 hp.
It measures 3,895 mm in length, ducking under the 4 meter length to extract excise duty benefits, 1,735 mm in width and 1,555 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,460 mm.
The pseudo-crossover will get rear window defogger, centrally mounted tachometer and speedometer unit with a digital clock, MacPherson struts at the front and torsion beam setup at the rear. It also gets height adjustable driver seat, leather wrapped steering, audio system with Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in, CD player and remote control, steering mounted audio controls and OVRMs with indicators.
The Cross also gets ABS with EBD, driver and passenger airbags, under body coating, anti chip coating and anti corrosion steel sheet to prevent rusting.
